The Equity Indexed Annuity (EIA) will be the initial investment vehicle used under the LottoStocks concept. The EIA is the ideal initial investment because if any legislative changes are required to implement the concept they can be done completely on the state level. As well, the no-risk nature of the EIA is well-suited as an entry-level investment for first-time stock market investors.
As the LottoStocks concept evolves, becomes known and better understood, we can envision other kinds of equity investments coming on-line.
Investments that could be offered under the LottoStocks program in $1.00 units include: mutual funds, individual stocks, initial public offering (IPO) stocks, venture capital stocks, and stock and commodity options.
POS terminal
Lottery terminals will be the initial type of point-of-sale (POS) terminals to offer LottoStocks investments. They are the ideal initial terminals because the need to offer a positive alternative to lottery gambling provides an additional incentive to legislators to change the law.
As the LottoStocks concept becomes better known, we can envision other kinds of POS terminals offering LottoStocks investments, such as: cash registers, ATM machines, internet, and gaming machines (e.g. slot machines).
